1. The Pomodoro Method

This is one of the simple methods to help you minimize your time effectively. Basically, the Pomodoro technique works based on a default time formula, and you can customize the alarm for each concentration session. If you find it difficult at first, start with a short time of 15 minutes, then gradually increase it.

Using Pomodoro will put more pressure on you to concentrate on any task. After about 25 minutes of focused concentration, the Pomodoro will automatically switch to a 5-minute break. After about 4 Pomodoros (which takes 100 minutes of work), you can take a break of 20 to 30 minutes. Continue this cycle until you complete the task, and from there you will know how much time your project took.

2. Make a list of important tasks each day.

This isn't difficult. Spend some time at the beginning of the day making a to-do list, keeping in mind that you shouldn't have more than three important tasks so you can focus intensely on one. And importantly, you'll have more motivation for a shorter list.

But how do you know which is the most important? Think about which task, if you don't do it, will have the biggest impact on your project, or you can use the Eisenhower matrix method to divide tasks into categories: urgent, non-urgent, non-urgent, and non-urgent.

The method of creating a daily to-do list is quite simple; it helps you optimize your time effectively in all tasks. Completing the first task will give you a sense of accomplishment, motivating you to work harder on the next two tasks.

3. Focus on one thing at a time.

You can use the Pomodoro technique to help with this. You can't multitask; it will discourage you and you might not even complete any of it.

It's like working towards the biggest goal in your project. When you have more than one thing at a time, that's when you won't be able to finish both. So, train yourself to focus on one task at a time.

You will reach the peak of concentration if you combine all three methods above. It won't be difficult if you have determination and a single goal.

4. Clear your brain.

The brain controls all bodily functions, and we have an average of 50,000 to 80,000 thoughts a day, jumping from one stream of thought to another. It's like when you can't concentrate because you can't control these thoughts.

So what do you do to clear them away? It's simple: when you have another thought in your head and you remember you need to do something, write it down in a notebook or on a piece of paper nearby so you can return to focusing on the task at hand.

Writing it down will help your brain immediately remove that task from your mind. Besides that, you can also create a list of small tasks to complete after each period of focused work.

5. Managing Distractions

Distractions surround you; they come from notifications on your phone, from animals, objects, people, and surrounding sounds. Therefore, you should clearly identify the source of your distraction and then address or avoid it.

Start using the effective tools above and plan and prepare accordingly to achieve optimal focus.

If you find it noisy, find a quieter area or wear headphones.
If phone notifications distract you, put your phone on airplane mode or mute it and turn off your internet connection.

Avoid irrelevant pages like Facebook, TikTok, or news on your work tabs.

You can ask your colleagues to be quiet so you can concentrate better.

Reducing distractions will increase your concentration, allowing you to complete your work faster.

Therefore, by following these principles, you will achieve 100% work efficiency with absolute focus. You should apply them immediately after reading this article, and remember to discipline them and practice them as a daily habit.
